"Dr. Dave" has 37 years experience as a registered nurse. He spent five years developing his simulation skills at a small community college. For the past eleven years, he has worked at a regional university in their pre-licensure nursing program. He created a simulated hospital nursing unit utilizing limited available space and technology. If the technology did not exist, or it was too expensive, he developed working substitutes. His doctoral thesis investigated the use of clinical judgment during simulation scenarios. He has spoken at regional conferences regarding his innovative ideas and consults with other programs on how to effectively integrate innovation into their programs. He currently lives in Western North Carolina.
